Bantham Swoosh 2022
Oh Bantham, you did it again. We can’t imagine a more beautiful location for 800 swimmers to swim 6km.
Starting in Aveton Gifford, the river accepted the swimmers into its cool, clear waters and sent them on an epic journey towards Bantham. Many swimmers were taking part in their first ever outdoor swimming event, and you really couldn’t ask for better conditions. It’s a truly incredible experience whether it’s your first or sixth time taking part and that final ‘SWOOSH’ into Bantham beach is exhilarating.
£110,000 has been raised for Level Water. Or, to put it another way, about 7,000 swimming lessons for children with disabilities will now happen because of this incredible event and amazing swimmers.
Alongside the Bantham Swoosh is the Mini-Swoosh. An opportunity for children to swim the final ‘SWOOSH’ part of the main event. It’s fun, fast and gives children their first experience of taking on an outdoor swimming event. And for the first time in 2022, some of the children that Level Water have taught to swim we able to take part. Watch the incredible vide below.
