FROM THE VERY

FIRST SPLASH

We provide swimming lessons for children with disabilities across the UK.

From physical development to social and emotional confidence, swimming is a vehicle to change their lives for the better.

To make this happen and create long lasting impact, we know it can’t be done in isolation. Level Water unites and collaborates with teachers, families, fundraisers, pools, supporters, governing bodies – and children with disabilities.

Who are the lessons for?

Our 1:1 swimming sessions are for children from 4 to 11 years old with a physical disability, visual impairment or hearing impairment.

These specialist sessions are designed to give young people who can't currently swim or need more dedicated attention. The lessons are designed to build their water skills in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

What are the lessons like?

All of our swim teachers are specially trained to provide lessons tailored to each child's needs. From the first lesson you’ll agree goals and aim to graduate further down the line.

What are the benefits

From physical development to social and emotional confidence, swimming is a vehicle to change their lives for the better. Starting with our specialist swimming lessons, we create opportunities for children with disabilities and their families.

  • “I took Stamford to 7 different local swim centres before finding Level Water, and none of them could truly grasp Stamford's needs and how to teach him. His teacher has a phenomenal amount of patience, understanding and determination, and with this he pushed Stamford to his full potential. Teaching a child to swim is just as important as learning to walk, therefore, we must thank Level Water and Alex for having played such a huge part in Stamford's life.”

  • “Lauren has had a huge impact on Rose‘s confidence in the water. She firstly taught her how to be safe in the pool which gave us peace of mind, and it’s a joy to watch the high fives and big smiles, with every small win celebrated. Swimming will always be a challenge for Rose, however with Lauren she is making steady progress, which is brilliant to see.”

Where are the lessons available?

The map below shows all of our partner pools across the UK.

We’re working hard to open more pools every year to reach the thousands of disabled children who do not have access to swimming lessons.
